The HOA General Session Minutes will be posted for every board meeting (minutes are password protected), so please fill out your profile information to obtain your password.
 
The newsletter will be published on our site as well as special notices regarding unscheduled meetings. Other items of interest to homeowners will be added periodically.

Please let us know what you think about our website.  Any suggestions you may have for making it more relevant to your needs would be appreciated.  As with most web sites, this is a work in progress and will be updated and changed quite often in order to reflect the desires of the community.

KPOA General session Online Meetings
Due to the COVID-19 crisis the Board of Directors has been meeting via Zoom teleconferencing. This has allowed the Board of Directors to continue addressing issues in our community. It also provides a way for homeowners to participate in monthly community discussions from the comfort and safety of their home. However, the technology is not without risks and the Board of Directors had tried to balance homeowner accessibility and security. During the first Zoom meeting in April multiple users entered the meeting and started Zoombombing.  Read more in the flyer distributed to KPOA members - KPOA Zoombombing
 
KPOA members Registering for Online Meetings
The Board of Directors have had to deal with bad apples joining the meetings, causing disturbances, and misrepresenting themselves as KPOA members. All security protocols at our disposal have been employed with the most important verifying homeowners prior to distributing the meeting link. All KPOA members wanting to join the meeting must register at least 2 days prior to the meeting:
1. Request the registration link from our property manager Dave Bucks (dave@valleyhoa.net)
2. KPOA member registers for the meeting and a notice will be sent to Dave to approve
3. After verifying the participant is a KPOA member the meeting link will be sent to the authenticated email address
4. All members need to register at least 2 days prior to the meeting date to allow time for verification
 
Board of Directors - Rules Adopted
The Board of Directors have proposed the following rule changes per Sec. 15.3 of the CC&Rs and is requesting member feedback by September 12.  KPOA members can contact the Board of Directors from OurKnollwood.com > Contact Us or our property manager (Dave@valleyhoa.net).  The Board of Directors will review the comments and concerns of members, considering members’ feedback in the final decision. Knollwood / Balboa landscaping improvement project
The Board of Directors has been enforcing CC&Rs with Courtesy Letters, Final Letters, and Call to Hearings for homeowners not willing to abide by the Association’s governing documents. However, many KPOA members ignore Call to Hearing requests and end up incurring significant fines. The fines are only meant to persuade homeowners to address the concerns identified by the Board of Directors. These fines along with reserves in savings provided a means for the Board of Directors to accomplish the recent landscaping improvement project WITHOUT ANY SPECIAL ASSESSMENT to KPOA members.
 
All KPOA members are encouraged to attend the open session monthly meetings.  Let us know if you’re interested in joining a Committee for Architectural / Beautification, Community Engagement / Safety, Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch is an organized group of citizens, working together in cooperation with law enforcement, devoted to crime prevention within a neighborhood. The Knollwood Property Owners Association invites you to join and participate in the Neighborhood Watch.

Annual Election Meeting
Saturday, September 12th, 6 pm at Knollwood Country Club parking lot - south
Due to the COVID-19 crisis and City of Los Angeles imposing social gathering restrictions the Board of Directors have agreed to postpone to the Annual Election to:
Date / Time : Saturday September 12 at 6pm
Location: Knollwood Country Club parking lot – South end near ficus trees
 
The inspector of elections and current Board of Directors will gather at the south end of Knollwood Country Club parking lot adjacent to our recent landscape improvement project. Homeowners are welcomed to attend to observe the counting of the ballots. During ballot counting the Board of Directors will provide tours of the recently completed landscaping project at Knollwood / Balboa and discuss any homeowner concerns. Once the votes are counted, the tabulated results will be:
 Promptly reported to the board KPOA members in attendance
 Recorded in the minutes of the next board meeting
 Results will be placed on our website at OurKnollwood.com within 15 days
 
Concerning the election, multiple homeowners contacted the Board of Directors about a flyer being distributed supporting only four candidates. There was concern that the flyer was an official mailing from the Association. The Board of Directors was not aware of the flyer and the majority do not approve of this type of campaigning. The flyer was discussed with KPOA legal counsel and it was not considered a violation. However, they did advise that the flyer should have contained the following markings:
 Not paid for by the Knollwood Property Owner’s Association
 Not an official mailing from the Board of Directors
 
Including these disclaimers would eliminate any doubt as to the expense, the motives, and prevents other members’ from claiming right to access Association funds for their own campaign purposes.  The new Election Rules mandated by SB 323 for the next election for 6 seats on the Board of Directors can be found HERE .
