Understanding Your DWP Bill

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP) renders bills on a bi-monthly basis covering both electric usage and water usage, a 10 percent “utility tax” on the amount of the electric charge, and charges by the City of Los Angeles for sewer service and trash collection, including rental charges for extra bins. This paper addresses the charges for water and sewer service.
